Writing and Study Skills Support






Use the Communication Skills Centre to improve your skills and your grades. The Centre services are free and suitable for all CBS students; undergraduate, postgraduate, local and international.
Our services help students in four key skill areas:
1. Academic writing
referencing, editing , structuring essays and reports
2. Interpersonal communication
meetings, understanding Australian slang
3. Professional communication
job applications and CV's, interviewing
4. Study skills
time management, exam techniques, reading skills.
Services offered to students
The Centre provides the following free support services to CBS students:
Workshops |
There are 10 essential workshops to help you in your studies e.g. critical thinking, referencing, exam techniques. Sign up early to avoid disappointment. To download a copy of the latest timetable, click on Workshops |

Course in Language and Study Skills(CLASS) |
The CLASS module comprises nine one hour weekly seminars. Students will be guided through the academic writing process and be provided with the skills you will need to excel in any writing task. Ensure that you register early. For more details, click on the CLASS flyer |
Critical Analysis for Business (CAB) |
The CAB module comprises nine one hour weekly seminars. It aims to assist Curtin Business School students to develop critical analysis and critical thinking skills.

CONVERSATION CLASS WITH ATTITUDE |
The CBS conversation class is aimed at international students who have English as a second or additional language, and who wish to improve their speaking and listening skills in conversational English. Australian students are also welcome to attend, as our international students would enjoy speaking to Australian students. For mor information.
