About the Marketing Experience Program
Exceptional students are invited to participate in the new and prestigious Marketing Experience Program. This program has been customised to include central elements of the introductory Marketing unit, Marketing 100. Taught by university academics, it comprises both lectures and smaller tutorial learning environments. As a result, it will increase students abilities to work cooperatively in a team, think critically and develop their analytical skills. It also allows students to complete a unit of their Curtin University degree whilst still in secondary school*.

How are participants selected?
To be eligible for the Marketing Experience Program, students must have a minimum ‘B’ grade average in Year 11 English. Students must also possess the maturity and self discipline to flourish within an academically challenging environment. Responsibility for determining the eligibility of interested students rests with the responsible teacher from each school.
Students from the following streams may be interested in participation of the Marketing Experience Program:
English- History
- Art and/or Design
- Dance and/or Drama Studies
- Music
- Interactive and/or Digital Media
- Management and Marketing
- Small Business Management and Enterprise
- Visual Communication – Photography
What is involved?
Students will be required to attend a weekly three hour evening seminar, which comprises of an equally split lecture and tutorial. They are also required to complete all assessments pertaining to the program. Final grade assessment will be comprised of a mid-semester test, final examination and completion of an industry based case study. Students who successfully complete the unit will receive a Certificate of Completion and will have completed one unit of their Curtin University degree*.
Admission to Curtin Uni once Marketing Experience is completed
On matriculation, students who obtain the requisite TER and gain acceptance into Curtin University of Technology, will be required to enroll in the Marketing 100 unit and incur the associated HECS liability. The grade previously achieved through the Marketing Experience Program will be recorded at the end of the semester in which the student enrols, and carried over. The mark obtained in the Marketing Experience Program is not recognised by universities other than Curtin University of Technology
