More Information

Siobhan Austen is Associate Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at Curtin University of Technology, Co-Director of the Women in Social and Economic Research (WISER) unit and Deputy Director of the Centre for Research in Applied Economics (CRAE).

Siobhan obtained a PhD from the University of Melbourne in 2001 for her thesis on the cultural aspects of labour markets and has published a book, “Culture and the Labour Market”, on this topic.

Siobhan is currently engaged on a range of research projects relating to women’s status in the economy. These include projects examining gender budgets, older women’s employment chances and transitions, and the involvement of girls in post school education.
